Early History of the Baptist Church in Mooringsport
Interestingly, the Soda Lake Association is not related to the area below Caddo Lake, but is a Texas-based organization founded pre-1850 and still exists with churches in neighboring Harrison and several close Texas counties.
Methodist Pastor Appointed
At the 1870 Louisiana Conference of the Methodist Church, John Wilkinson is named pastor of the Mooringsport church.
